Hi Eglison.

Do you think that this fault is related to the car being an ecomatic. Or, is it perhaps a general engine fault?

Could you be more specific "my car only run". Does the car not start up, or do other problems occur with it?

Do any ecomatic warning lamps flash? [k110] [k48] [k111] ?

Hi Eglison,

This is very strange indeed.

Do any of the warning lamps flash ( [k110] [k48] [k111] )?

Could you be more specific by "the car does not move"? Can you engage a gear? What happens when you press the accelerator?

It would be very difficult to make a diagnosis on such limited information, and I would only be able to pass on my knowledge regarding "ecomatic" specifics. The easiest way to establish faults with the ecomatic system would be to connect the car to a VAG Diagnostic machine and check the fault codes.

Hi Eglison,

OK, when you say "the car does not start". Is this because the engine has switched off. What if you try and pull away before the engine switches off?

If you start up the vehicle, disable ecomatic mode, and try to pull off, does the car let you then?

Could you answer my question about warning lights please?

Hi Eglison,

The video is good, this narrows down the problem very well :)

OK, my first thoughts is that your gear display switch F208 is malfunctioning.

Alternatively, it could be possible that your gear monitor switch F209 is at fault.

The [k48] light is flashing because:
  • The car does not know what gear it is in (responsibility of f208)
It thinks that it is in an incorrect gear for the road speed. (responsibility of f208 and road speed sender)
It thinks that the gear is not properly engaged (responsibility of f209)
When all the lamps flash together at once, this means the ECU has detected a fault and has set a fault code in it's memory.

My first suggestion would be to get the car put on a Volkswagen diagnostics machine, you need to interrogate the clutch electronics (12) for fault codes. The fault code will tell you exactly what sensor has malfunctioned and in what way it has malfunctioned too.

I would strongly suggest putting the car on a diagnostic machine, as this will tell you right away what is wrong and point you in a very close direction.
